So the opening for this year's IU Day was a sketch. The sketch is entitled "Jamaica, Just Jamaica". This is about a Chinese man who went to Jamaica got to know more cultures in that country. I bet everyone enjoyed it. The accent of the Chinese man - Peter Chong by Afiq Hatta totally made the audiences' day.
Since the sketch took up quite a long time, we had our first break right after it. Spaghetti was served ! Sounds delicious right ? ;)
After that, everyone entered the hall and it was time for Italy ! Right after people went into the hall, they were surprised. There were a few people standing two rows in the middle. What were they going to do ? Curiosity kills. Everyone couldn't wait for it. It was actually a Venetian Mask Festival ! It is an annual festival held in Venice, Italy. Masks have always been a feature of the Venetian Carnival. And lets see how did those masks look like...
And then, we have our modern dance which is called as the contemporary dance. Unfortunately, pictures of this part were not taken. But its okay, here comes the more exciting part. Singing "We Will Rock You" by Penny and Aina Sofea totally made the atmosphere of that day much better !
Due to the food problem, we had our second break because some of the people didn't get to fill up their stomach. Really sorry for the inconvenience caused. After getting back into the hall, time for watching the awareness video. The motive of our video is to remind each of everyone to be more concerned about the environment of our country in order to make a healthier place for us to live in.
After watching the awareness video, what about China ? Its more exciting ! Singing "I Want Your Love" by Fiona and her dancing partners, Puteri and Tengku was most of the people's favourite.
What's next ? Chinese Mask Changing performance was also one of the 'bomb' !
We also had the performances of gymnastics and cheerleading !
And the following performance is a modern dance - Super Junior M which was performed by a group of Form 4 boys. The shouting and cheering from girls were everywhere.
Here's the main show of the day. *Drumrolls* FASHION SHOW !
How was it ? Fantastic right ? ;) The coming up performance was presented by the Board of Directors. There were three groups playing different instruments.
First was Jamaica, followed by Italy and China.
Right before closing, souvenirs were presented to the schools by the president, Rachel. After that, Board of Directors walked up to the stage was were introduced one by one. Last but not least, as for the finale, the performers walked up to the stage following the Board of Directors.
So overall, it was really fantastic and our hard work paid off ! Thanks for coming people ! :D
